Welcome rain after days of scorching heat
More rain is needed to ease the drought which has seen river and dam levels plummet.

The scorching summer heat has finally broken and rain is falling this morning over most parts of the district.
Crops and gardens shrivelled over the past few days as the mercury soared deep into the 30s. Umzinyathi District Municipality has introduced water restrictions which have seen water outages in the higher lying areas of Dundee between 10am and 2pm and from 9pm and 4am.
Conditions have cooled markedly today, Saturday, with stormy conditions and hopes of at least 25mm of rain falling.
The maximum temperature is about 25 degrees today, 18 on Sunday and just 16 on Monday.
