There were heart-warming scenes at Eventide Home on Saturday afternoon when Brother Daniel along with members from various churches hosted the traditional Eventide Christmas Carol service.
One of the highlights was an impromptu duet featuring Brother Daniel and 97-year-old Margaret Pattison who sang ‘Yes, Jesus Loves Me’.
The Eventide workers also sang and danced. It was a wonderful afternoon and certainly brought home the meaning of Christmas to the folk at Eventide Home – the residents love the interaction and the visit.
Brother Daniel has hosted the service for the past 29 years at Eventide. He encouraged those with time on their hands to volunteer to assist at Eventide – even if it means just reading a book to those who can no longer read for themselves or just spend time with the residents.
“It would be much appreciated and would be a real blessing.” Brother Daniel said.
