DHS’s Philasande awarded Alan Gray Orbis Foundation Full Scholarship
The school is so proud of Philasande, who went through an extremely strenuous selection process which started early in 2017.
DHS is proud to announce that Philasande Mdletshe (Deputy Headboy of DHS, ranked number five in the Umzinyathi district, academically) received the Alan Gray Orbis Foundation scholarship. This is an amazing achievement as it is one of the most popular and sought-after bursaries in South Africa.
The fellowship covers the following: Full cost of university tuition; Full cost of university accommodation, meals, books, tutor allowance, monthly living stipend; Academic support and access to an entrepreneurial and personal development programme; Mentorship, both from individually assigned foundation-employed staff, as well as business mentors; Access to potential postgraduate funding for graduated candidate fellows; No postgraduate contractual obligations.
The school is so proud of Philasande, who went through an extremely strenuous selection process which started early in 2017. It included three rounds of intensive interviews, a camp with simulation activities and even more challenging interviews. Philasande was able to pass every single round with great success and is a true example of what Dundee High stands for.

Dundee High Prefects travel to Clubventure
Early on the morning of December 10, 2018, Mr and Mrs Visser embarked on an adventure to Clubventure, Ballito with the new prefects of 2019.
The first day was filled with activities, such as painting a team flag, sheet-volleyball, gutter-ball, etc.
The second day started off with a bang with survivor, where each team needed to complete 15 activities, from climbing up a pole and ringing a bell, to simple maths sums to find a code for a lock to raise their flag.

Spanwerk was ‘n noodsaak.
The afternoon’s activities included a Zipline unlike any other Ziplines. The day was ended with a campfire and toasting of marshmallows where the prefects could ask Mr and Mrs V any questions they wanted to. Let’s just say, they didn’t hold back.
They all look forward to a year of teamwork, family and fun with this group in 2019.
