A post-mortem is to be conducted after a 50-year-old woman was found dead in her Birkett Street house on Saturday evening. Police said the body of Sherina Kaliden was found in her bedroom. She had suffered head and facial injuries, police said.

Police were alerted to a call to the house which was locked. Entry had to be gained by breaking open the kitchen door.

Police have opened an inquest docket.
