New blood needed at Drakensberg Secondary School

Blood Clinic Co-ordinator Mr SM Dawoonarain would like to see new blood donors pledge to help save up to three lives with a pint of blood

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is set to host the first blood donor clinic at Drakensberg Secondary School.

Learners, parents and school staff over the age of 16-years-old and weigh more than 50 kilograms are welcome to donate a pint of blood on February 5.

The nursing team will begin at 10.30am and will wrap up at 2pm. Blood Clinic Co-ordinator Mr SM Dawoonarain would like to see new blood donors pledge to help save up to three lives with a pint of blood.

“Many of the regular blood donors have matriculated and therefore we need new blood, to come in and assist us in giving the gift of life,” he said.
