Cable theft is on the rise in the area.  Emergency group, NDE 911, alerted residents this morning that Telkom cable theft had been reported from Tom Worthington Drive, Pennsymons Street and from the bottom end of Smith Street.

“Please be vigilant..if your Telkom line or internet suddenly cuts off especially at night.,please post it on the group so we can get the relevant authorities to come out to that specific area and hopefully arrest these criminal elements.”

Late last year, cable theft knocked out the communication system in the Avon Industrial Area for three weeks.
