The protest action outside the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality halted a short while ago.

Vice Chairperson of the Independent Municipal and Allied Workers Union (Imatu), Themba Lyon gave the disgruntled municipal staff belonging to the union feedback following the first segment of their meeting.
The meeting took place at the Council Chambers between Imatu and municipal management.
This engagement was facilitated by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)
“We have begun discussing some of the grievances with management. Thus far we have raised three issues before coming out to speak to you. we have not put a proposal forward as yet but we will update you. Our meeting will resume now, But we urge that you all return to work,” said Mr Lyon.
He added that once they have something concrete all members will be informed of the way forward.
