State of the Town Address postponed due to arrested mayor
The Mayor's State of the Town address has been postponed.
Newcastle’s State of the Town address was set for tomorrow at the Farmers Hall.
However, since the recent arrest of Newcastle’s Mayor, Cllr Mahlaba, the annual State of the Town Address and Budget Speech has been postponed until further notice – according to a press statement issued by the Newcastle Municipality.
Cllr Mahlaba was sworn into office on the first of March, 2019 – spending a total of 22 days as the Mayor of Newcastle.
