President Ramaphosa hands over three schools in NKZN
President Cyril Ramaphosa along Sihle Zikalala, and Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga all made an appearance in officiating a school handover.

In a very quiet and often forgotten part of South Africa, hardly an area where various heads of state would congregate, President Cyril Ramaphosa came to the outskirts of Dannhauser to officiate the handover of three primary schools.
The handover took place at Enhlanleni Primary School, where thousands of supporters and constituents flocked to the are to catch a glimpse of their president.
The School
Two shipping containers served as the school building over ten years ago.
“I wrote a letter to baba-President asking him for his help and assistance with the school.” cries out school principal Mama Nomthandazo Luthuli.

A few years later, Ramaphosa and his Foundation came to the school’s rescue and completely transformed it; a state of the art library, Smart boards, and a fully stocked kitchen with cafetaria.
This primary school has grown from 45 learners to over 340 learners with space for more.
The Learners
On this particular presidential visit, multiple classes prepared a demonstration for the president. The science class showed the president an awesome science experiment – where he schooled the children on real science
Each learner now has a touchscreen laptop, which makes communicating and teaching a lot easier.

Other learners read passages from a book for the president, teaching him a thing or two about Zulu!

After the school tour, the president proceeded to a hall across the road from the school where he addressed a congregation eager to hear from him.
Some of the school children could barely sit on the seats as they were bustling with excitement to see their president.
Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation
President Ramaphosa has his own foundation called the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation where he is involved in many community and civil projects, but most notably he has partnered with the Adopt-A-School Foundation.
This foundation adopts less-developed schools and nurtures them, the foundation has helped over 200 schools since its inception.
The Future

With the continued growth of the school, and it being the only double-story building in the area, principal Luthuli expresses that transport is now an issue.
“The school serves all the children in the area, but we need children from far away to have access to the school. So next on the agenda is a bus”
