It is nearing the third month without any response from the local municipality regarding non-operational municipal vehicles parked off at the fire station.
READ: Scrap yard or fire station?
What is the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality’s silence on the matter suggesting? This is what locals want to know.
The fire station, located on the corner of Subway and Elizabeth roads, has come under the spotlight in January when a local wanted to know the reason why non-operational and vehicles not related to fire fighting are kept at the station.
“Our fire station looks like a scrap yard; cars are jacked up. This looks very bad and I want to know what the reason for this is,” the local questioned.
The man wished to remain anonymous, as he resides in that area. Among the vehicles parked at the station are refuse removal and fire fighting trucks, traffic and municipal department cars.
The Estcourt News has resent a media inquiry to municipality seeking answers, but after a two-week waiting period, no response was provided.
