On Saturday Sarel Cilliers played against Pionier and the day produced hard fought matches, with close scores in all matches. It could have gone either way.
Rugby: The u/14s were locked at 7-5 for most of the match, with Pionier winning in the end 17-5.
The u/15 match was also a close affair with Sarel winning 15-12. In the u/16 match Sarel made many unforced errors and had to play catch up rugby in the end, with the match going Pionier’s way, 22-17.
In the main match of the day, Sarel’s second team players showed that they are ready to be chosen for the first team next year by putting up their hands with brilliant running rugby. They outplayed their opponents to win 33-17.
Well done to the boys with excellent performances, and everything of the best for next weekend’s fixture against Vryheid High School in Vryheid.
Hockey: Sarel’s boys hockey also played brilliantly and won 8/0 against Pionier.
