Glencoe braces up for Ward 7 by-election

Candidates representing four political parties are contesting the seat

Another crucial by-election is set for today (June 19) in Ward 7, Glencoe, and the ANC will be looking at dominating all seven Wards in Endumeni
Following their victory in Ward 3 in March, the party is keen to wrap up total control of Endumeni.
It is understood that chairmanship of MPAC, Municipal Public Accounts Committee, has also gone to the ANC. The Committee that plays an oversight role on municipal spending was previously chaired by the EFF.
The ANC, DA, IFP and EFF are all fighting for election honours.

The seat was previously held by the DA’s Dr Sandy Bedassi and the party says it is keen to ensure that their candidate, Lloyd Kgotshane, wins.
The ANC’s candidate is the respected former school principal, Bashir Khan, while the IFP is represented by a community activist, Sydney Ramsay and the EFF by Pradeep Beharie who works at a local high school.
