Power restoration should be completed today

The power outage in the middle if one of the coldest winters in years has caused widespread anger

Work to complete the restoration of electricity to Sibongile should be done today.

Contractors from Siza Mekaar of Vryheid and electricians from Endumeni municipality have been working around the clock to erect overhead cables, six days after arsonists burnt down the main sub station feeding the area.

The arson attack has been linked to unhappiness over tenders being awarded to outside businesses to provide services to the recent Youth Parliament in Sibongile.

The attack that has left Sibongile in darkness since June 14 has caused widespread anger.
