Ephangweni will soon have an additional 100 households built. Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality introduced the contractor of the Phangweni Housing Project on May 22.
The project is set to address the community’s outcry regarding the shortage of housing. Mayor Jabulile Mbele highlighted the importance of bringing basic services to the people through infrastructure development.

The project will cover part of Ward 6 and Ward 18, and these housing units will benefit many families.
“Such projects are central to the government policy on improving the lives of South Africans,” said Mrs Mbele, after which she congratulated the community members.
The ward councillor thanked the residents for their patience and also expressed his joy that this initiative will generate jobs.
Mr Mnguni from Isilimela Contraction clarified the process of the project and added that he is happy to work hand-in-hand with the community.
He went on to urge the community to put in place representatives who will form part of a committee that he can liaise with during all stages of the project.
