Municipal vehicles continue piling up at the fire station

Seven months ago, a resident found himself baffled and trying to figure out why the Estcourt fire station looked more like a scrap yard.

Scrap yard or fire station?

Non-operational and operational municipal vehicles are stored in the spacious fire station yard at the corner of Subway and Elizabeth roads.

The man noticed that the vehicles parked there are in no way related to firefighting and that’s when his concern arose.

Following the fleet of vehicles delivered to Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality in May this year, more cars are being kept at the station.

Still, no answers have been received from the municipality as of January, when emails were sent through conveying the resident’s questions to the local municipality’s Communication Department.
