A 52-year-old woman was found dead in her Browning Street home this morning.

According to SAPS, she was discovered lying on the bedroom floor and at this stage no foul play is suspected. Family members and friends at the scene said the woman had been sickly for some time.

Members of the Newcastle Forensics Unit are at the scene conducting preliminary investigations.
