Andries Vermeulen wows at Sale Yards’ 50th anniversary

A storyteller of note, Andries motivated the farmers of the district with the Good News.

Storyteller, musician and sometimes preacher, Andries Vermeulen headlined the 50th anniversary celebration of the Dundee Sale Yards, hosted by the Dundee and District Farmers Union on Friday night.

His meandering stories, all with a side-splitting punchline, had the large crowd which packed into the Battlefields Country Lodge, in stitches.

He also sang and spread some of the Good News, to motivate the farming community. Andries is a regular on the Op die Stoep television programme, where he and others exchange urban and rural legends.

See Wednesday’s edition of the Courier for more details on the 50th anniversary celebration.
