The Debby’s Bees Kings and Queens of Chess from Riverdale Primary School took part in a recent chess tournament hosted by the municipality.

First and second positions in the under 13 boys’ category were scooped by Riverdale Primary School, as well as second position in the under 13 girls’ category.

“They use their lunch breaks to practice and their effort always pays off during tournaments. Chess is now in their blood. I’m very proud of my young stars,” said chess coach Mrs Gamede.

The participants received medals, while the winners walked away with scientific calculators and trophies.
