Thousands of litres of water streaming down towards Princess Park yesterday afternoon (September 26) raised the alarm that something was amiss.

It was discovered this morning that electric cables were allegedly stolen from the pump station.

Reservoirs feedings some residential areas in Forderville ran dry, resulting in water interruptions spanning from some parts of Forderville to Papkuilsfontein.

A team of electricians from Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality and staff from UThukela District Municipality are on site.

It’s believed the stolen cables have been replaced and filling of the reservoirs is commencing.
