The United States Emergency Plan for AIDS relief made it possible for the Ithembalethu Outreach Project to provide quality care and support to people living with HIV/AIDS.
The organisation also assists orphans and vulnerable children in Estcourt, Wembezi and other surrounding communities. Education prevention workshops and awareness campaigns run at Estcourt Secondary School have positively impacted on our learner population.

Having benefited from the excellent education and counselling service rendered by the organisation over the years, the school would like to, through the medium of the Estcourt News, extend its heartfelt gratitude.
As a town, our communities are ravaged by social ills such as drug abuse, poverty and gender-based violence, all afflicting our youth.
Through their continued education programmes and workshops conducted within the school, supporting learners affected and infected by HIV/ AIDS and other challenges, Ithembalethu Outreach workers and facilitators have ensured that vulnerable learners are informed, educated and supported.
Prevention and behaviour change, palliative care, support of orphans and vulnerable children, and the addressing of stigmatisation and discrimination have been topics and actions conducted at the school.

Estcourt Secondary School is disadvantaged and poverty, unemployment and violence are prevalent in the surrounding communities. The organisation has, over the years, provided indigent learners with uniforms and food parcels.
For this and all the support, the school is eternally grateful.
