Eskom need to repair line before uThukela can start pumping water again!

Lack of water blamed on electricity pole that snapped in high winds

The irony of being blamed for the lack of water in several areas in Ladysmith – including Acaciavale – and being literally powerless to restart your pumps because of Eskom is not lost on uThukela officials. Ezakheni Water Treatment Works has been without power for the last two days after the pole went down.

Both the raw water pumps and the abattoir pumps are tripping internally because of the pole, which is swaying in the wind.

Eskom has been contacted by uThukela and they are waiting for them to fix the problem.
