Medical team go out of their way to help Driefontein community

By the time the IMA crew arrived bright and early, 250 patients were already waiting patiently

The Thusong Community Centre in Driefontein was the venue for the Islamic Medical Association (IMA) – Ladysmith branch’s latest outreach venture on Sunday, October 20.

On a sweltering day, when the mercury climbed to 36 degrees, 439 patients were screened for diabetes, hypertension and HIV, as well as dental, eye and hearing problems. None of the latter three screenings are offered at the local clinic.
