[NOTICE] Residents can expect water cuts in these areas on November 3

The installation of pressure release valves (PRVs) will take place at the corner of Scott and Hospital Streets.

The Newcastle Municipality has issued a notice to residents, regarding planned 12-hour water cuts on November 3 (Sunday).

The message reads as follows:

“Please note that we are intending to close water on the 03 November 2019 for 12 hours from 6am to 6pm.”

The affected areas will include the whole of Lennoxton, Fernwood, Suryaville, Richview, Sunset View, Gandhi Park, Paradise, Newcastle Central and Fairleigh.

“Residents of Ward 25 will also be affected and are advised to collect water on Saturday (November 2) in preparation of the water cuts. A water truck will be deployed to the area,” said Ward 25 Councillor, Mqapheleni Ngcobo.

The installation of pressure release valves (PRVs) will take place at the intersection of Scott and Hospital Streets. The municipality advised residents affected to switch off all geysers during this period.

Ward 3 Councillor, Matthew Shunmugam confirmed the water cuts were scheduled to take place.

“In case of emergency, Abdul of HB Exclusive Car Wash (opposite Lennoxton Motors) has made his borehole available to the public free of charge.”
