[UPDATE] All you need to know about the current water supply in Newcastle

''Water will only pick up when all the reservoirs are at an acceptable level,'" said Democratic Alliance (DA), Councillor Bertie Meiring.

Water supply was expected to return to normal in Lennoxton as well as Newcastle CBD yesterday, November 3.

“Due to the reservoir level at north bound being low it did not fill as expected.  Another challenge is that we receive less water from uThukela as a result of the low level of the Buffalo River – this is because of the lack of rain.

”Water will only pick up when all the reservoirs are at an acceptable level,'” said Democratic Alliance (DA), Councillor Bertie Meiring.

Cllr Meiring also stated: ” The north down reservoir is filling slowly and will take some time before the water system is filled. The lower areas will have water first and higher areas last.”

He advised residents to switch off geysers due to some water systems which drain the water from the geyser.

The Newcastle Advertiser will provide more updates as more information is made available.
