[BE CAUTIOUS] Protest action on the R103

It is believed that residents are fed-up of poor service delivery with regards to water and electricity provision

Fiery protest action has sparked along the R103 near Mimosadale this morning (November 25).

Debris is being burnt on the road and has caused a total closure of the R103 from the central business district to Mooi River.

Protestors blockaged the R103 with burning debris.

Emergency services are on scene.

A resident from the area, who did not want to be named, said that ths protest is due to poor service delivery.

He claimed that residents have been without without for more than a week and some residents had been witing for pre-paid electricity meters for year.

“The municipality knows about this,” he said.
