Forestdale residents want answers
"... We were told this project is for Forestdale residents, hence we don't want any outside people... to benefit first."
A group of Forestdale residents marched peacefully to the Endumeni Municipality this morning.
They aimed to air their grievances about the procedure used to select beneficiaries for the housing project in Forestdale, and addressed Speaker of Council, Lucky Khumalo, and Deputy Mayor, Mathula Mbazo.
According to Queen Thomson, a Forestdale resident, the correct and lawful procedure was not followed when RDP house beneficiaries were elected.
“I remember very vividly that in November 2014, we were told this project is for Forestdale residents, hence we don’t want any outside people who are renting in Forestdale to benefit first. Forestdale residents should be the first on the list of beneficiaries.”
