Illegal dumping is again in the spotlight, with many complaints coming in from residents who are tired of seeing rubbish all over the place.
You can do something to help stop the madness by reporting illegal dumping to the municipality.
Alfred Duma Local Municipality warns that those caught dumping illegally will be slapped with a hefty R1000 fine or even a short jail sentence.

Repeat offenders will receive a further R500 fine.
Residents are permitted to place six refuse bags on their sidewalk for collection; two domestic refuse bags and four garden refuse bags.
If municipal garbage collectors fail to pick up or refuse to remove the bags, they can be reported to the Cleansing & Solid Waste Department on 0366311777
