Two dead after taxi carrying children bursts into flames

Two people have been confirmed dead

A taxi laden with 19 people burst into flames on the R103 near Rosetta earlier this afternoon (February 17).

The taxi was transporting school children when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which encountered a mechanical failure.

This caused the taxi to burst into flames.

Passing motorists stopped to assist the children that were fleeing from the burning taxi.
