
UPDATE: Water supply restored to parts of Newcastle
According to the Newcastle Municipality, water has been restored to low-lying areas in town.
In a statement issued earlier today (February 23), the municipal Communications Department revealed the following:
- The burst pipe in Fairleigh has been fixed
- Water supply in high-lying areas (e.g. Ridgeview) will be delayed
- Water supply in Lennoxton and surrounding areas has been restored
- A burst water pipe on Bird Street has been reported and is currently being attended to
- Water supply in Madadeni, Section 4, has been restored
- Municipal technical units are fixing a burst pipe which has affected Warda 8, 10, 17 and 32 in Osizweni
- Municipal technical teams are fixing water disruptions in Sunnyridge.
Water leaks elsewhere in Amajuba are reportedly being attended to.
