Pomeroy detective shot dead at his home

SAPS has launched a manhunt to bring the killer(s) to book.

Police are on the hunt for the killer(s) of a Pomeroy detective, who was shot dead at his home on Tuesday night.

The detective, who has since been identified as Sergeant Mkhize, was based at the Pomeroy Police Station.

According to sources, his bakkie was parked outside his house and was set alight. When the detective rushed outside, he was shot in the back and died instantly.
