Each team is armed with sanitizers and water to hand over to councillors

To expand awareness about the deadly coronavirus, Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality and various partners have embarked on a Covid-19 intervention programme.

After launching a Local Command Centre with Mayor Jabulile and Mr VT Nkabinde at the helm, a second meeting was held with government departments and non-governmental organisations to discuss strategies to be implemented to curb the spread of Covid-19, especially in rural areas.

A vibrant programme of action was developed and teams visited communities in War Rooms from April 1.

The aim is to intensify the call by President Cyril Ramaphosa for people to stay at home during the national lockdown period. Each team is armed with sanitizers and water to hand over to councillors.
