Delivery rider escapes serious injury

The Traffic Department was on hand to ensure there were not any secondary accidents

A fast-food delivery worker escaped serious injury when he was knocked off his mo-ped on Victoria Street late yesterday afternoon.

The worker was travelling between the Cornhill and Cuthbert Street intersections when a motorist turned into him.

He was flung onto the road but was not seriously injured.  The driver of the vehicle had been attempting to turn into a driveway and appeared not have seen the oncoming mo-ped with the setting sun momentarily obscuring her vision.

Traffic backed up rapidly but Endumeni Traffic Police officials were on the scene to prevent secondary accidents.
