Confirmed Covid-19 cases close police station temporarily

The police station was being decontaminated as per SAPS protocols.

Following the closure of Madadeni Police Station just a couple of days ago, due to a policeman testing positive for Covid-19, the same fate has befallen the Osizweni Police Station this week.

Two police officers have tested positive for the virus.

“We can confirm two police officers from the detectives department in Osizweni have tested positive for Covid-19, one over the weekend and the other, this morning. A mobile community service centre has been established at the entrance of the police station,” commented Brigadier Jay Naicker, KZN SAPS spokesperson.

Naicker added the police station was being decontaminated as per SAPS protocols and all other officials, exposed to the two police officers, were directed to undergo screening and testing as a precaution.

In case of an emergency, the community is requested to call 10111 or the Vispol Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Neethling on 0825580961.
