Sewage and now burst pipe affects business in Main Road

Motorists have commented that when you drive past the affected area, you can smell the sewage

At the beginning of last month (June 2020), a story was published about a raging river of stinky sewage flowing in Main Road.

During the entire month, nothing was done to fix the problem. Now, to add insult to injury, there is also a burst pipe in the same area, with hundreds of litres of water going to waste.

Numerous calls have been made to uThukela District Municipality by Councillor Abbas Warasally and Why Waste business owner Mr Aslam Patel, but nothing has been done about the problem.

Motorists have commented that when you drive past the affected area, you can clearly smell the sewage.

Many ask how such a major problem can be left for so long when everyone is talking about personal hygiene during the Covid-19 pandemic.
