South African football action resumes next weekend

Who do you think will win the league title?

After a lengthy absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, local football lovers can once again sit back and enjoy some soccer.

The ABSA Premiership will resume during the second week of August, while next weekend will see the Nedbank Cup semifinals being contested.

In the first semi, contested on August 8 at 2pm, Baroka FC and Bloemfontein Celtic will compete while the second semi will see Mamelodi Sundowns take on Bidvest Wits.

The Premier League itself will resume again on August 11 when Sundowns take on Pirates in a mouth watering encounter.

Kaizer Chiefs will take on Wits the following day. Chiefs lead the league by four points but have a game in hand over second placed Sundowns.

The final round of Premiership games will be played on September 5, with the Nedbank Cup final three days later on September 8.

Who do you think will win this year’s title once the league concludes? Let us know on one of our social media channels.
