NOTICE: Newcastle East will experience low water pressure

The Newcastle Municipality's technical team will meet this week to address the issue.

Uthukela Water will be supplying less water (25 Megalitres) due to less raw water being extracted from the Buffalo River.

According to Newcastle Municipality Head of Communications, Mlungisi Khumalo, a few areas in Newcastle East will therefore experience low water pressure during peak times.

“This will affect Madadeni and Osizweni,” confirmed Khumalo.

He commented that the municipal technical team would meet this week to explore solutions to address the issue.

“The Newcastle Municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and would like to urge residents to ensure all taps are closed properly to guard against wastage when the water has been restored,” he concluded.
