Woman arrested for allegedly stealing from her employer

The 49-year-old faces charges of being in possession of stolen goods

A 49-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday, August 9, for allegedly stealing valuable assets from her employer, who lives in Ladysmith.

It is alleged that the 49-year-old stole items including money and took the stolen goods to her home, which is situated in Bergville.

According to police spokesperson Captain Bongani ‘Skhindi’ Nyathi, police received a tip-off about the theft.

“The Ematsheni Vispol Unit, working together with police officers from the Upper Tugela area, conducted an operation that was aimed at locating the 49-year-old who was accused of stealing from her employer,” commented Captain Nyathi.

An undisclosed amount of cash was recovered by police, as well as a kitchen scheme, a double bed, 9ct gold rings,  blankets, an iron and a pair of takkies.

The woman was immediately arrested and detained at Bergville police station.
