Goods truck overturns on the N3 near Estcourt

With a cargo of fridges and washing machines, the truck was soon descended on by dozens of bystanders

A truck driver sustained minor injuries after a crash on the N3 near the Lowlands Bridge at about 11.30am today (August 23).

According to emergency services, the driver lost control of the truck causing it to overturn.

The truck’s horse and trailer were sprawled across the slow and fast lanes as well as the centre median.

Passing motorists accessed the highway through the emergency lane and there was a 3km backlog.

With a cargo of fridges and washing machines, the truck was soon descended on by dozens of bystanders.

Police presence had to be summoned on scene.
