WATCH: Mayor celebrates his birthday with donation to local orphanage
As he celebrates his birthday, Newcastle Mayor Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba leaves a special message for children.
Today (August 23) Newcastle Mayor, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba celebrates his birthday with a special message to children – ‘You can become anything you want to be.’
To honour his special day, Cllr Mahlaba donated a cake and goodies to Osizweni orphanage and day care centre, Ikhaya Lezingane.
He had this message to the children:
“Irrespective of your circumstances, you can become anything you want to be in this world. Study hard and play hard. You are the future of this country and we want to see engineers, doctors and accountants among you. Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do or achieve anything in life.”
