ESTCOURT KZN: Closure of municipal recreational facilities

“Law enforcement agencies will be deployed to all areas of concern to monitor the situation"

In order to comply with Covid-19 safety protocols and the latest amended Level three lockdown regulations announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday (December 28), all municipal facilities will be closed to the public.

“Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality would like to confirm that all municipal facilities – including swimming pools, municipal parks and community halls – will be temporarily closed in light of the Covid-19 safety protocols,” said municipal manager Patrick Mkhize.

He added that sport teams that have been granted permission to utilise sport facilities are expected to adhere to all Covid-19 rules.

“On all municipal sports grounds, spectators are prohibited from watching games,” said Mr Mkhize.

Failure to comply may result in prosecution.

“Law enforcement agencies will be deployed to all areas of concern to monitor the situation, as guided by the Festive Season Visible Policing and Crime Combating Strategies,” concluded Mr Mkhize.
