DUNDEE: Colleagues, friends pay tribute to fallen traffic officer

Tributes have been made to Mondli Mthembu, a much-loved traffic officer in the Dundee District.

Tributes were paid yesterday to Road Traffic Inspectorate Officer, Mondli Mthembu, who has passed away after a short illness.

His colleagues from both the Provincial and Municipal Traffic Departments, SAPS and private security officers gathered outside his home on Simpson Crescent.

There was a short parade after which the a convoy of vehicles, accompanied by the hearse carrying the body, drove through town as a salute to the fallen officer.

He was described by colleagues as the ‘gentlest of giants’who will be sadly missed. The Courier pays condolences to Mr Mthembu’s family and friends.
