VRYHEID KZN: Text a friend while donating blood and win a holiday
The SANBS will be in Vryheid on February 27 at PnP from 9am until 1pm
It is a first for the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) to have a ‘text a friend’ promotion in which donors can win a mini holiday.
The holiday includes a three-night stay for two at The Palace in Durban, as well as a R1000 grocery voucher and a R500 petrol voucher. To participate, donors have to message a friend while donating blood and challenge a friend to also donate to gain entry into the lucky draw.
When a friend accepts the challenge and donates blood during the month of March, he / she earns an entry into the draw. The promotion runs from March 1 until 31. The lucky draw is exclusive to Northern KwaZulu-Natal donors and will take place on April 1.
One unit of blood can save up to three lives and donating only takes 30 minutes, four times a year.
To become a blood donor, you must:
– Be between the ages of 16 and 75 years old
– Weigh 50kg or more
– Be in good health and lead a healthy lifestyle
– Consider your blood safe for transfusion to a patient
– Commit to donating blood regularly.
The SANBS will be in Vryheid on February 27 at PnP from 9am until 1pm.
