DUNDEE KZN: Matric results 2020 – a year like no other

A challenge for the Class of 2021 has been set

The Class of 2020 were certainly up against the odds because of the disruptions caused to schooling because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

No schools in the immediate Endumeni area achieved a 100% pass rate. Sarel Cilliers High was the best performing school with 140 out of the 142 candidates who wrote passing, giving them a 98,6% pass rate.

They were followed by Dundee High, 96,1%, Ebusi Combined School 88,7%, Enyanyeni Secondary 76,9%, Ethangeni Combined 76,9%, Boschkloof Combined 75%, Thalana Secondary 74,7%, ML Sultan Glencoe Secondary 60%, Dundee Secondary 53,7% and Sebenzakusakhanya Secondary 47,4%. Qhobo School in the Babanango area achieved a 100% pass rate with all 26 candidates passing.

Umzinyathi finished bottom out of the 12 education districts with a pass rate of 72,6% and MEC Mavimbela has set a challenge for the Class of 2021 to achieve an 80% pass.
