VRYHEID KZN: Over a million rands worth of counterfeit goods recovered by police

The total value of the recovered goods is estimated at about R1.5 million

Police recovered 20 bales of counterfeit goods such as tekkies and T-shirts during a multi-disciplinary operation on Sunday (March 14). The operation was conducted by the Zululand Task Team, Vryheid Trio Task Team and Crime Intelligence. A suspicious-looking bakkie was transporting the goods from Emanguzi towards Newcastle when it was spotted on the R33 and intercepted by police. A 34-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of counterfeit goods. The total value of the recovered goods is estimated at about R1.5 million.
