DUNDEE KZN: And the golf just flowed…

Played on a scorching autumn day, Saturday's Flotek Golf Day was a bumper one

Played on a scorching autumn day, Saturday’s Flotek Golf Day was a bumper one with over 84 golfers taking to the immaculately turned out course.

As players have come to expect from hosts Kallie and Liza Roets, the Flotek Day is always one to remember. Last year, the event was scuppered after all the planning and logistical arrangements because of the lockdown that came into effect on March 27, 2020.

But this year’s was one to remember, with Mandla Mthethwa taking home first prize on 42 points. The impressive Londeka Maphumulo was second on 40 points, while Bertie Venter (39 points) won the third-place count-out from Aaron Mbatha and F Grove.

The nearest the pin prize on number 16 went to Hlengiwe Hlongwane, while W Visser hit the longest drive in the men’s division, with Naomi van Huysteen taking the prize in the women’s division. Later, musician Christo Badenhorst entertained and it was good to see the golfers enjoying the day.

Many thanks to the Flotek team and their many sponsors. The Dundee Pro Shop Sponsored Day will be held this weekend.
