VRYHEID KZN: Two suspects nabbed for vehicle, stock theft

When police inspected the vehicle, they found goat’s hair

The Zululand Stock Theft Task Team recovered a stolen vehicle in the Mathayeleni area of eMondlo on Sunday (June 6). Investigations showed that the vehicle had been stolen the previous day (June 5) in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga. When police inspected the vehicle, they found goat’s hair and it was discovered that it had been used to transport stolen goats. One goat was recovered by police, while another was sold and slaughtered for funeral proceedings in the same area. Two suspects were arrested and charged with vehicle and stock theft. Both appeared on June 7 in the Nquthu Magistrate’s Court and have remained in custody.
