ESTCOURT KZN: R10,000 reward for Ragnar’s safe return
Any leads can be telephoned through to the Mooi River SPCA Inspector, Phumlani Majola, on 083 385 0807
There has been no response to pleas from a heartbroken owner that his magnificent Pit Bull cross dog, Ragnar, be returned after he was taken along with the owner’s bakkie in a hijacking in Mooi River on July 18 around 20:00.
The owner’s bakkie, a white Isuzu KB 250 super cab with a NUM registration, was being driven by employees who were delivering firewood when they were hijacked at the intersection of the Greytown Road and the R103 near Bruntville, Mooi River.
Two men wearing balaclavas and wielding guns threatened the employees and drove the vehicle away along the R103 into the town, passing Forge Agri before the bakkie was lost from view. It headed towards Estcourt. Ragnar was in the back of the bakkie as he was being taken to his owner, a farmer who lives near Brandvlei, close to Craigieburn Dam.
The bakkie was recovered near Wembezi but there was no sign of Ragnar. The railing on the back of the bakkie had been removed, and it is suspected that the hijackers only saw Ragnar on the back once they stopped.
While fearing the worst, his owner is trying to stay positive. There was a possible sighting near Brynbella Intermediate School but without any luck of finding Ragnar.
A large reward of R10,000 has been offered for the recovery and safe return of Ragnar. He is black with white patches on his chest and back feet, and while probably frightened, if called by name, his owner believes he would come to anyone.
Please help find this poor dog, who is yet another innocent victim of crime. Any leads can be telephoned through to the Mooi River SPCA Inspector, Phumlani Majola, on 083 385 0807. Callers can remain anonymous if they wish.
Please help bring Ragnar home…
