Ladysmith KZN: School lends a helping hand for Mandela Day

The programme was delayed since schools were closed

Yesterday (August 6), Nkanyezi Primary School in Sosmsuku donated food parcels to three needy families.

This was part of the Mandela Day 67 minutes initiative which is aimed at encouraging the spirit of helping where it is needed the most. The programme was delayed since schools were closed.

Principal Ms Nkosi said the school does this every year, with the needy families being identified through the ‘Soul Buddyz’ programme.

Speaking on behalf of all the recipients, Ms Qhamukile Mhlongo said they are very grateful for what the school has done. “I am thankful to the teachers and the principal. This shows that there is a good relationship between the school and the community,” said Mhlongo.
