Ladysmith KZN: Outreach programme looking for sponsors

They are constantly looking for donations and sponsors so they can expand and reach more people

A few residents from the Limit Hill area formed a group called the ‘Youth Upliftment Programme’ (YUP) last year.

This is an outreach initiative that provides hot meals, blankets and essential items for those in need. The ladies in the group prepare soup / hot meals to hand out on weekends.

Jennifer Rehman, who is a member of the group, says that so many people go days without having food to eat, so this initiative aims to make a life-changing difference.

YUP is constantly looking for donations and sponsors so they can expand and reach more people in need.

According to group leader Carmel Catin, the next project they want to undertake is handing out baby food and nappies to mothers, for their little ones.

The group is looking for people who would like to join them or assist in any way. If you would like to be a member or a sponsor, you can contact Carmel on 0610627349
