Ladysmith KZN: Medical chopper lands at Regional Hospital

A newborn baby was brought from a hospital in Durban

Yesterday afternoon (September 11), a medical helicopter landed at Ladysmith Regional Hospital.

The chopper was transporting a newborn baby from Osindisweni Hospital (eThekwin District Hospital). This was due to a shortage of space / beds in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).

Ladysmith Regional Hospital spokesperson Thabo Sithole commented that, “Yes, a medical chopper did land at the hospital. It was a drop-off; it was transporting a newborn baby from a Durban hospital to our hospital.”
